2K has officially announced NBA 2K27, scheduled for a worldwide release on September 4, 2026. Developer Visual Concepts is bringing the latest installment of the franchise to Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2.

Caitlin Clark appears on the Deluxe Edition (£89.99), marking the first time a WNBA player has received a global premium cover for the series. Derrick Rose returns to NBA 2K cover duties for the limited-time Ultra Edition (£129.99).
Zak Armitage, SVP & GM of NBA 2K, noted that the selections reflect different facets of the sport's evolution. Wembanyama represents the modern big man, Clark the expansion of range and the women’s game, and Rose the resilience of a veteran point guard.
Early Access and Gameplay Reveal
Players looking to access the game before the general release can purchase the Deluxe or Ultra editions, which grant entry starting August 28. The Deluxe Edition includes 100,000 VC and additional MyCAREER and MyTEAM content, while the Ultra Edition provides increased virtual currency and Season Pass content.
While details regarding specific on-court mechanics remain under wraps, 2K has scheduled the first official gameplay trailer for July 28. This reveal is expected to provide a first look at updated movement, shooting, and defensive systems, alongside refinements to the MyCAREER and MyTEAM modes.
