Performance and Visual Upgrades
The developer confirmed that the "Gen 9 boost" aims to improve stability and visual fidelity across platforms. While individual optimization will continue in future updates, the September 15 release is set to feature 4K resolution on Xbox Series X and Xbox One X, along with support for 60FPS and Variable Refresh Rate (VRR). Players can also expect improvements to shadow detail and overall draw distance.
New Content and Gameplay Changes
The upgrade coincides with the launch of "The Slasher" update, which introduces a series of fall-themed events. Players will be tasked with tracking down fanatics and investigating clues to confront a new antagonist. Completing these challenges offers the opportunity to earn a unique Power Armor set and a new weapon, the “Super Slasher.”
Beyond seasonal events, the update introduces changes to weapon customization at workbenches. Players will gain the ability to modify Legendary mods on more than 80 uniquely named weapons found throughout the Wasteland. Additionally, the update enables access to both current and previously missed Legacy Seasons for all players.
