Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially announced the Prism Collection, a new series of hardware accessories for the PlayStation 5 that features a distinct transparent aesthetic. This collection introduces three specific color options designed to provide a unique visual style for both the console and the controller. The hardware will be available for purchase starting in early 2027, with pre-order windows opening later this year to allow interested players to secure their preferred designs.
Prism Collection Design and Pricing
The collection focuses on three specific colorways: Flare Orange, Emerald Green, and Graphite Gray. These transparent designs will be applied to both the DualSense wireless controllers and the PS5 console covers. Sony has confirmed the recommended retail pricing for these items, ensuring players know what to expect before the pre-order period begins in November. The following table outlines the pricing structure for the upcoming hardware releases.
| Accessory | Recommended Retail Price |
|---|---|
| DualSense Wireless Controller | $84.99 USD |
| PS5 Console Covers | $74.99 USD |
The transparent design choice represents a departure from the standard opaque finishes currently available for the console. By offering both controllers and console covers in matching themes, the manufacturer aims to provide a cohesive look for users looking to customize their gaming setup. The transparent casing allows for a view of the internal components, which has historically been a popular aesthetic choice for hardware enthusiasts.
Availability and Launch Schedule
Players interested in securing these accessories can begin placing pre-orders on November 10, 2026. The official launch date for the entire Prism Collection is set for February 4, 2027. These items will be available through the official direct.
