August 2026 PS Plus Essential Additions
Heading up the month is Big Walk, a brand new game releasing on PlayStation Plus on day one. Created by the minds behind Untitled Goose Game, it functions as a cooperative hangout game focused on exploration, messing around, and solving puzzles with friends.
Joining Big Walk on the Essential tier is Techland's zombie sequel Dying Light 2 Stay Human: Reloaded Edition, alongside the retro-styled horror title Signalis. Players have until the morning of August 4 to claim July's outgoing games before the transition takes place. Once claimed while subscribed to Essential, these games remain playable for as long as the active membership continues.
Upcoming Premium Additions and Departing Catalog Games
PlayStation has also previewed an early addition for the PS Plus Premium tier, confirming that PS2 classic Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams will join the service in August 2026 ahead of the franchise's return in September. Additional Extra and Premium tier additions will be announced later in the month following the recent staggered rollout structure.
Meanwhile, nine games are scheduled to leave the PS Plus Extra library before the end of August. Notable departures include Dead Island 2, Harold Halibut, Unicorn Overlord, Bomber Crew, Space Crew: Legendary Edition, Earth Defence Force 6, Roki, Clash: Artifacts of Chaos, and Onee Chanbara Origin. Players who wish to keep playing these specific titles after their departure must purchase them separately, as they will no longer be accessible through the subscription catalog.
