A previously unannounced Star Wars action RPG has surfaced online through the portfolio of a former developer. The project, codenamed Magellan, was in development at Echtra Games before the studio closed in 2025.

Project Details and Gameplay

Material from the project reveals a 'shoot & loot' action RPG intended for major platforms, including the PlayStation 5. Gameplay footage shows a variety of mission types, loot chests, and combat mechanics. The game was designed with two distinct character archetypes: a Jedi referred to as a 'Cleric' and a Mandalorian warrior known as a 'Triggerman'. Additionally, the game was intended to include a multiplayer mode and an NPC bond system for building relationships with characters.

Context for Star Wars Fans

While Magellan will not see a release, several other Star Wars titles remain in various stages of development. The current lineup of announced projects includes Star Wars: Galactic Racer and the strategy game Star Wars Zero Company. Long-term projects such as the Knights of the Old Republic remake and the newly announced Fate of the Old Republic are also currently in production.
