Ubisoft's ground-up revival of the pirate adventure has walked away victorious in the official Game of the Month poll for July 2026. Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced managed to fend off competition from Halo: Campaign Evolved, securing more votes than Master Chief and every other contender combined.
A total of 983 votes were cast across ten PlayStation 5 titles. Black Flag Resynced took the top spot with 526 votes, making up 54% of the final tally, while Halo: Campaign Evolved followed in second place with 219 votes (22%). Denshattack rounded out the top three with 97 votes (10%).
What Changed in Black Flag Resynced?
Ubisoft went out of its way to rework major components of the original pirate simulator. The revival features overhauled gameplay systems, including reworked combat and updated stealth functions. The parkour system also received a complete rethink to allow for more agile traversal across the game's open world.
In the site review, Liam noted that the title is "as you remember it, except better, bigger, and markedly flashier in all the right ways," earning the PS5 release a respectable 8/10 score.
