Hypergryph has confirmed that Arknights: Endfield will receive support for upgraded PlayStation Spectral Super Resolution (PSSR) on the PlayStation 5 Pro as part of the Version 1.4 update, arriving July 16, 2026. The update, titled Companionship Celebration: Homecoming, represents the game's largest content drop since its January launch.

According to David Gu, CTO at Hypergryph, the integration of PSSR was designed to enhance the game’s sci-fi aesthetic without requiring significant engineering overhead. The upgraded technology focuses on three key areas: sharper character detail, environmental clarity, and frame rate stability.
Players can expect to see improved definition on character outfits and material textures during both combat and exploration. The game’s stylized environments—ranging from industrial facilities to natural landscapes—will also benefit from increased temporal stability, which helps maintain image integrity during fast-paced movement.
Version 1.4 Content Expansion
Beyond the technical enhancements for the PS5 Pro, Companionship Celebration: Homecoming introduces a substantial amount of new gameplay content. The main story continues with Chapter 3, concluding the Wuling storyline and introducing two new regions: the Yinglung Pass and the North Wuling Exclusion Zone. These areas feature unique environmental mechanics and culminate in a boss fight against Alleikhreos.
The update also expands the roster with two new operators:
- Arcane: A Nature Caster specializing in Corrosion and battlefield crowd control.
- Liino: An Electric Supporter who provides healing and team amplification abilities.
New Gameplay Modes and Rewards
Hypergryph is adding several permanent and limited-time systems to the game. Echoes of War arrives as a permanent seasonal challenge mode, while The Rooted Realm introduces a new roguelike experience. For those looking for multiplayer options, the Heat Rage! Mega Arena! limited-time event allows players to team up in a two-operator deployment challenge.
Other additions include a new Gas production chain for the AIC Factory, a Story Skip feature for new players, and an updated Photo Mode. To celebrate the half-anniversary, players can earn rewards including a free 6★ weapon, Oroberyl, along with recruitment permits and various sign-in bonuses.
