A sequel to the Chinese soulslike Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is officially in the works, headed up by the original game's director at a brand-new studio. Rather than original developer Leenzee, the upcoming project is being built by Indolphinity—formally registered as the Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company—and will be published by 505 Games.

Quick Facts

  • Developer: Indolphinity (Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Company)
  • Publisher: 505 Games
  • Studio Founder & Director: Xia Siyuan
  • IP Ownership: Digital Bros (parent company of 505 Games) purchased the rights from Leenzee for around €4.6 million in April 2026.

Leadership and IP Changes

The establishment of the sequel's development path follows notable shifts earlier in the year. Xia Siyuan, who served as the director of the first Wuchang game at Leenzee, left that studio earlier in 2026, which initially cast doubt on the possibility of a continuation. However, Digital Bros acquired the intellectual property rights from Leenzee for approximately €4.6 million back in April, paving the way for the newly formed Indolphinity to take over the franchise.

"We are delighted to embark once again on a deep collaboration with 505 Games under our new studio banner, Indolphinity," Xia Siyuan stated in the joint press release. "As a homegrown development team made up of Chinese creators, we have always believed that a rich cultural heritage is the essence of our games and their competitive strength."

What to Expect From the Sequel's Story

Publisher 505 Games and Indolphinity have emphasized a commitment to retaining the cultural foundation of the original action-RPG. Digital Bros co-CEO Raffi Galante noted that the publisher strongly believes in the IP as a long-term global franchise and aims to safeguard its original creative vision by keeping its creative heart in China.

Regarding narrative direction, Siyuan offered an initial teaser indicating that the sequel will feature an entirely new chapter of Wuchang's story deeply rooted in Eastern themes and settings. Further details regarding platforms, release windows, and gameplay mechanics have not yet been disclosed.
