Ubisoft has officially confirmed that a new Ghost Recon game is in development, with developers preparing to put the project through closed testing. Speaking during the Ghost Recon 25th Anniversary stream, live producer Irina-Gabriela Popa shared that the team has been building the next chapter of the tactical shooter franchise for the past few years.
The upcoming title aims to stay true to the core elements that define the series: tactical action, large-scale operations, credible military storytelling, and the Ghost Unit. While looking ahead, Ubisoft previously hinted in financial briefings that its content pipeline for fiscal years 2027 through 2029 features significantly bigger lineups for major brands like Ghost Recon, Assassin's Creed, and Far Cry.
How to Join Ghost Recon Closed Tests
Players looking to influence development can sign up for the Ghost Recon Insider Program. Ubisoft plans to use participant feedback from closed tests to balance and optimize the unreleased game before launch.
An exact date for the first closed test has not been revealed yet, though the development team's readiness implies tests could arrive soon. This upcoming entry follows seven years after Ghost Recon Breakpoint and four years after the cancellation of Ghost Recon: Frontline.
