Fahrenheit 213 has announced a combat-focused closed beta test for the side-scrolling action RPG TSURUGIHIME, running from August 25 to September 6, 2026. The test will be restricted to just 100 participants worldwide as the development team gathers critical player feedback before entering full production.

Quick Facts

  • Platform: PC (Steam Early Access release slated for 2026)
  • Beta Dates: August 25 to September 6, 2026
  • Participant Cap: 100 players worldwide
  • Application Deadline: August 23 at 7:59 a.m. PT / 10:59 a.m. ET / 23:59 JST
  • Developer: Fahrenheit 213 (Director: Yosuke Shiokawa)

What to Expect From the Combat Build

Unlike standard testing slices that preview a broad cross-section of a game, this beta relies on a purpose-built combat-only environment. Director Yosuke Shiokawa noted in a press release that the narrow scope is intentional. The build features no story, exploration, or progression systems, isolating the game's core battle actions so testers can evaluate the moment-to-moment feel on its own terms.

Participants will drop into a five-minute survival mode where endless waves of enemies spawn. Players are scored based on how many combatants they eliminate before the timer expires, turning the survival mode into both a feedback instrument for the developers and a leaderboard challenge for testers.

Developer Aims for Full Production

With the studio preparing to shift into full production, Shiokawa emphasized the need for candid, unfiltered assessments from the small player pool. Every piece of submitted feedback will be reviewed by the entire development team to ensure the battle system meets expectations for the upcoming 2026 Early Access launch on PC.

TSURUGIHIME features character design by Kuroboshi Kouhaku and a score composed by Takeharu Ishimoto. Players interested in securing a spot in the August test can submit an application via the official sign-up form before the August 23 deadline.
