Development History and Background
The developer's previous project, a 2022 Metro-inspired game titled Paradox of Hope, faced copyright infringement accusations. Monkey-With-a-Bomb halted production and removed that title from sale in 2023 to bypass a costly legal battle, vowing to reshape existing work into a distinct project. CONVRGENCE subsequently launched into SteamVR Early Access in April 2024.
Over two years of early access development, the shooter received regular content drops introducing new enemies, missions, firearms, and features. Earlier this month, the base price shifted from $19.99 to $24.99.
What to Expect in the 1.0 Update
According to the official roadmap, the upcoming 1.0 release delivers a complete overhaul of main missions, introducing a definitive ending alongside expanded story context and voice acting. Players can also expect advanced graphics options, new difficulty settings, cloud saves, and a redesigned tutorial.
