Rebel Wolves has confirmed that its upcoming RPG, The Blood of Dawnwalker, will launch on September 3, 2026. The title, directed by former The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077 director Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, positions itself as a branching-path experience centered on player choice and consequence.

The 30-Day Narrative Loop
At the center of The Blood of Dawnwalker is the story of Coen, a man caught between human and vampire forms. Due to silver dust in his lungs from his time working in silver lines, his transformation into a Vrakhir—the game’s unique take on vampires—is incomplete. This duality is reinforced by a 30-day and 30-night cycle.
Tomaszkiewicz notes that while players can continue playing after the primary goal of rescuing Coen’s family is resolved, they will not be able to see every piece of content or fill out the entirety of Coen’s skill tree within a single playthrough. This design choice is intended to encourage replayability and foster discussion among players regarding their unique experiences.
Combat and Player Agency
The developer has implemented a directional combat system designed to reward precision. Players are encouraged to observe enemy animations and respond with specific attacks and blocks. According to Environment Artist Adam Payet, the system offers a neutral blocking option for those less interested in the mechanical depth, though the directional approach provides tangible combat rewards rather than simple punishments for failure.
Voice actor Will de Renzy-Martin, who portrays Coen, emphasized that the character’s form influences his behavior. As a Vrakhir, Coen’s fear may manifest as aggression, whereas in his human form, he is more inclined to hide. The game’s structure follows a single main questline with a significant amount of optional content, allowing players to shape Coen’s development based on their preferred playstyle, whether that involves combat-focused encounters or story-driven exploration.
A Crowded Fall Schedule
Launching in early September, The Blood of Dawnwalker enters a busy period for game releases. Tomaszkiewicz expressed confidence in the project, noting that the team is focused on delivering a unique RPG experience. “I think that our genre is quite unique,” Tomaszkiewicz said. “There are a lot of people who are waiting for good open-world RPG games, and there are not these kinds of games this year. I think that the game is good, and it will defend itself.”
