After a rocky start to the week, the team at Hologryph and tinyBuild has successfully re-deployed Update #2 for Sophie. The patch follows a necessary rollback of yesterday’s update, which had caused widespread connectivity issues for the game's growing player base—a community that has already reached over 300,000 players since the game's launch last week.
- Game: Sophie
- Update: #2
- Developer: Hologryph / tinyBuild Games
- Platform: PC
Stability and Connectivity Fixes
The primary focus of this deployment is resolving the server issues that prevented players from getting past the "Connecting" screen. Beyond fixing those connection hurdles, the developers have implemented several performance-oriented changes. Most notably, occlusion adjustments have been made to provide a minor performance boost, and BattlEye behavior has been tuned to reduce the occurrence of false-positive bans.
The team has also addressed a long list of technical bugs, including:
- Fixed the issue where character bodies remained in the air after death.
- Fixed oversaturated boxes and props within the lobby.
- Resolved an exploit where items could be duplicated.
- Fixed matchmaking preferences not saving between Expeditions.
- Corrected incorrect crew sizes displayed during loading screens.
Movement and Trampler Improvements
The character controller has received significant attention in this update. Players should find movement more fluid, with fixes specifically targeting parkour issues, flickering names during landing cutscenes, and character collision on difficult terrain. Hit registration has also been improved to make combat feel more consistent.
Tramplers—a core component of the Sophie experience—have received several quality-of-life adjustments. The developers have reduced glitches and shaking during trampler collisions and addressed a bug that could cause characters to fly into the air after impact. Additionally, trampler stability now correctly affects speed, and the team has improved occlusion for internal compartments.
Weapon Balance and Economy Tweaks
Update #2 brings a comprehensive balancing pass to the game's arsenal and economy. If you rely on 80mm Cannons, note that recoil has been increased and the T3 reload time has been bumped from 2.5 to 3 seconds. Conversely, 40mm ammo has seen a range increase, and 70mm ammo has received a projectile count increase alongside a siege damage reduction.
Economy changes include:
- Canned Sea Deer XL: Sell price increased from 100 to 500.
- MedKit: Sell price decreased from 50 to 20.
- Energy Rod: Sell price on contract platforms corrected from 450 to 50.
- Valuables: Small Valuables and Valuables sell prices increased by 1 crown.
