Developer Paras Games has released a fresh patch for Pass the Fear, bringing the roguelite bullet-hell shooter to version V1.0.462. Update 7.28 focuses heavily on performance options, quality-of-life adjustments, and critical bug fixes for PC players.
Quick Facts
- Game: Pass the Fear
- Patch: Update 7.28 (V1.0.462)
- Platform: PC (Steam)
- Release Date: July 28, 2026
Performance Optimizations and Quality Tiers
To help address hardware performance, the update introduces a brand-new Maximum Frame Rate option in the settings menu. If stutters occur, players are advised to lower the cap based on their hardware load. Additionally, dropped items on the ground now utilize fewer resources when using lower effect quality settings.
Control responsiveness has also been tweaked: holding down the Ultimate button now continuously casts the Ultimate ability rather than requiring repeated presses.
Bug Fixes and Balance Tweaks
Several unintended interactions and exploits have been resolved in V1.0.462:
- Fixed an issue with Battle Scar: Lover's Betrayal where purchasing a new Weapon Part while already holding a Weapon and a Weapon Part directly replaced the existing part.
- Resolved a bug allowing chests in event rooms to be opened early, then reset and reopened after completing the event.
- Fixed an issue causing monsters to recover health indefinitely while Reversed Judgment was held.
Balance adjustments include a direct damage instance applied to monsters whenever Disruption triggers. Thunder Dragon's Inverse Scale effect was changed from Lightning Damage to Lightning Transmutation Damage, and Thunder Dragon's Claw now grants Transmutation Damage +10% on Ultimate instead of a flat +50% transmutation damage. Furthermore, the Battle Scar: Light Sensitivity now only takes effect when hit.
