Less than two weeks after its 1.0 launch, Palworld has experienced a major spike in activity, nearly reaching the one-million concurrent player mark on PC. Data from SteamDB recorded a peak of 961,897 players over the recent weekend, while SteamCharts reported a slightly lower figure of 956,613.
Quick Facts
- Current Status: 1.0 release successfully concluded its early access period.
- Player Milestone: The game reached a peak of over 961,000 concurrent players in July 2026.
- Developer Outlook: Pocketpair considers this the "peak" for the 1.0 launch window.
John 'Bucky' Buckley, head of publishing and communications at Pocketpair, addressed the surge on social media, calling the community response a "surreal and life-changing experience." While the game fell just short of the one-million-player threshold, the figures represent the highest engagement levels the title has seen since its original early access debut over two years ago.
Buckley noted that while he believes this represents the height of the game's 1.0 popularity, the team views the sustained support over the last two years as overwhelming. Despite the high engagement, he emphasized that the team is satisfied with the current reception.
Future Development and Ongoing Projects
Pocketpair continues to work on expanding the Palworld universe. Beyond standard updates to the survival game, the studio is developing a previously announced dating simulation title. Buckley also confirmed that several secret projects are currently in the works.
Regarding potential future content, the studio has ruled out certain features, specifically reiterating that an underwater update will not be added to the game. When asked about potential crossovers, the publishing team indicated they would be open to collaborations with titles like Ark, No Man's Sky, and Enshrouded, provided they could find a way to make the partnerships make sense within the game's mechanics.
