Mortal Shell 2 Shades offer cosmetic changes for each of your Shells. While they do not provide any combat advantages, you can swap out skins once you track down the necessary items. If you purchased the Devout Edition, you automatically unlock the full set of Obsidian Shades for all eight Shells.
- Find the eight Blackmarrow Keys hidden across the world.
- Take the keys to the elevator room at the Marrow Keep, where eight chests line the walls.
- Unlock the chest corresponding to your preferred Shell.
- Rest at any Beacon in the game to change your active Shade.
Where to Find Blackmarrow Keys
There are exactly eight Blackmarrow Keys hidden in-game, and each chest requires one key tied to a specific Shell. Think carefully before using each key, and prioritize the Shells you use most often. You cannot unlock chests for Shells you have not discovered yet.
- In the Desolate Ruins dungeon inside the secret room in the Marrow Keep.
- Behind the Ova in the Conquered Temple Beacon.
- Beneath the tower near Sester's Abbey.
- Purchased from a merchant with Night Mode activated.
Alternative Shade Rewards
Aside from the Obsidian Shades included in the Devout Edition, players who participated in the beta for at least 30 minutes gain access to the Flayed Harbinger Shell Shade. If you qualify and cannot see it in-game, check your beta rewards progress.
