Arc System Works is opening up access to Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls with a three-day open beta across PC and PlayStation 5 from July 24 through July 26, 2026. Unlike previous playtests that were restricted to PS5, this upcoming test opens up cross-platform testing on Steam and the Epic Games Store just one month ahead of the full game's launch.

Players can begin downloading the open beta client up to two hours before the test officially goes live on their chosen store front. The three-day session runs concurrently across all regions on PC and PS5.

Playable Character Roster and Stage List
While the final game includes 20 characters, the open beta features 16 fighters organized into thematic teams. This playtest marks the first time Blade is publicly playable.
The available teams and characters in the beta include:
- Fighting Avengers: Captain America, Iron Man, Black Panther (Hulk is omitted from this build)
- Unbreakable X-Men: Storm, Magik, Wolverine, Danger
- Amazing Guardians: Spider-Man, Ms. Marvel, Star-Lord, Peni Parker
- Samurai Outriders: Ghost Rider, Blade (Deadpool and Loki are omitted)
- Knights of Doom: Doctor Doom, Magneto, Green Goblin (Carnage is omitted)
Matches will take place across six confirmed arenas during the test:
- Marvel’s New York (Day)
- Marvel’s New York (Night)
- Savage Land
- X-Mansion
- Knowhere
- Wakanda
Modes Available During the Open Beta
The open beta provides access to both competitive and single-player options. Players can enter Ranked matches to test the online ladder system or queue for Casual battles. The social Open Lobby area will be active, allowing participants to customize an avatar and initiate direct matches using arcade cabinets.
For single-player content, the beta includes the first three chapters of Episode mode. This segment focuses on the Amazing Guardians storyline as Spider-Man assembles the roster, featuring fully illustrated motion comic cutscenes between standard fights.
