Nexon has introduced Spanish language support for MapleStory as part of the v.271 update. The new feature is currently available as a beta service for PC players.

Beta Language Policies

While the update adds Spanish descriptions, the game remains primarily English-based. Players should be aware of the following limitations during the beta period:

  • Content scope: NPC names, monster names, item names, quest titles, and the in-game UI will remain in English.
  • Third-party content: Certain special content provided by third parties will not be translated.
  • Translation method: Translations are generated using automated technology optimized for the game.
  • Precedence: In the event of a discrepancy between the Spanish translation and the English text, the English source material takes official precedence for Terms of Service and notices.

How to Enable Spanish Support

Players can activate the beta language setting in two locations:

  1. The top left corner of the Character Selection screen.
  2. The Language Settings option found under the Game tab in the Settings UI.

Upon selecting Spanish for the first time, you must accept a notice regarding the beta status of the service. Note that the game client requires a restart before the language changes take effect.
