Nexon America has officially released Arcana: Martial Hearts, a major summer update for the long-running fantasy MMORPG Mabinogi. The update is available now for PC players and introduces two new hybrid classes, expanded progression mechanics, and updated dungeon rewards.

New Arcana Classes

The update allows veteran players to combine the strengths of two distinct Grandmaster talents. The Melodic Puppeteer merges Bard and Puppeteer abilities to provide mid-to-long-range damage. Players utilize a control bar to execute skills like 'Downbeat Drop,' which summons a puppet to a target location, and 'Wireless Connection,' a passive that allows for multiple puppet summons without manual manipulation.

The Blazing Brawler, also known as 'Ater,' focuses on high-impact melee combat using knuckles. This class channels combat energy into skills such as 'Ignite: Cyclone Drive' for rapid charges and 'Berserker’s Fury' to boost physical power. Passive skills like 'Fire Within' allow players to efficiently manage and accumulate Fury during combat.

Progression and Gameplay Adjustments

The expansion of the Total Arcana Level cap to 450 means that for every 10 levels gained, players receive a permanent increase to their maximum stat caps. This is intended to facilitate uncapped character growth for high-level adventurers.

Nexon has also streamlined the gearing process by integrating stat boosts directly into new outfits and titles. Furthermore, dungeon reward pools have been updated to make high-end progression more accessible:

  • Alby Shineseeker Dungeon: New reward boxes have been added.
  • Special Erinn Spirit: This item is now a potential drop across multiple dungeon difficulties, with rates scaling based on the challenge level.
  • Title Coupons: Players can exchange 10 Special Erinn Spirits for random Title Coupons.

The Arcana Association headquarters has also been expanded to accommodate the growing roster of classes, and players can engage with two new Vignette questlines featuring Laoire to earn exclusive rewards.
