The studio behind Lies of P has a new name. Formerly known as Round8 Studio, developer Nough has released a 16-minute mini documentary detailing its workplace culture, development history, and ambitions for the game's in-production sequel.

Quick Facts

  • New Studio Name: Round8 has rebranded or spun off into Nough, operating under the motto 'Games by Gamers.'
  • Sequel Status: The Lies of P sequel is in full production, though it lacks a formal title or release date.
  • Testing Method: Nough utilizes internal playtests called 'Game Days' where staff play the current build and fill out surveys, a process that previously shaped Lies of P's difficulty modes.

According to the video's description, the name Nough is a portmanteau of "Not Enough" while maintaining the underlying development philosophy of Round8, a subsidiary of publisher Neowiz. While the team remains tight-lipped about specific details surrounding the upcoming Lies of P sequel, key staff members shared insight into their goals for the project.

"From the very start, my goal has been to create the world's greatest action game," said combat director Lee Jeonghyeon. Overall director Choi Jiwon asked fans to trust the ongoing development process, stating that the team is applying the same passion they brought to the original game.

The documentary also highlighted Nough's internal testing structure. Alongside milestones where Choi streams builds to the company, regular "Game Days" require the entire studio to step away from routine work and test active builds. Feedback gathered from these company-wide surveys directly influenced features in the original game, including its difficulty modes, as well as structural shifts for the Overture expansion.
