Cheat Codes have replaced Sprite Chests in the current Fortnite Override season. These interactive sequences require players to input directional inputs quickly to unlock cosmetic Sprite rewards.

How to Complete a Cheat Code

  1. Locate the Code: Use the audio chime or enable Visualize Sound Effects in the Audio settings to track the blue glow and arrow icons appearing on surfaces.
  2. Identify Rarity: The color of the code determines the rarity of your potential reward: Blue (Rare), Purple (Epic), or Gold (Legendary).
  3. Input the Sequence: Approach the surface and follow the ENTER CHEAT prompt. Use your controller's d-pad or directional keys to match the arrow directions shown.
  4. Beat the Timer: You must input the full sequence before the timer expires. Failing the input or running out of time causes the code to disappear without a reward.

Important Considerations

While Cheat Codes appear consistently in specific locations across the island, their rarity is randomized each match. You cannot farm a single location for Legendary Sprites repeatedly. Before interacting, observe the code carefully, as visual glitches or awkward camera angles can occasionally obscure the required sequence.

Note that these in-game Cheat Codes are distinct from the Fortnite Lobby Hack codes entered on the Battle Royale lobby screen. Both methods are currently used to collect Sprites, but they function through entirely different interfaces.
