A new update for Greymanes is rolling out across all platforms, bringing stability improvements, bug fixes, and key gameplay adjustments. Players on Steam for both PC and Mac can download the patch immediately.
Quick Facts
- Platforms: Rolling out across all platforms, with Steam (PC) and Steam (Mac) available now.
- New Knowledge Category: Added "Quests" with eight sub-categories, granting certain entries retroactively.
- Resource Change: Research now requires camp funds instead of silvers.
- Camera Settings: Lock-on camera rotation now features manual, semi-auto, and auto options.
Content and Quest Adjustments
The update introduces "Quests" as a brand-new knowledge category split into eight sub-categories: Main Quests, Faction Quests, Investigation Quests, Research Quests, Daily Life Quests, Guide, Archive Records, and Constellations. Certain entries in this category will unlock retroactively if you've already completed the corresponding quests.
Research requirements have shifted, replacing silvers with camp funds. The location of the "Baker's Note" item during the quest "Haverson's Request" has been moved, and animal knowledge can now be acquired by picking up certain animals instead of defeating them. Additionally, several quest bugs have been resolved, including issues with the pensive statue at Jijeong Temple and kiln repairs at the Kilnden Workshop.
Controls, Combat, and UI Fixes
Input settings for "Lock-on Camera Rotation" now provide manual, semi-auto, and auto choices rather than simple on/off toggles. Manual keeps the previous enabled behavior allowing right stick or mouse rotation, semi-auto limits rotation range, and auto completely restricts camera movement while locked on.
Combat and movement adjustments fix issues where special mounts got stuck on low ledges, players couldn't climb through certain clear windows, and ranged weapon lock-on failed while mounted. On the UI side, maps updated via ringing a bell now display a visual distinction from directly explored areas.
Graphics, Performance, and General Fixes
Technical updates address corrupted rendering when FSR Frame Generation or XeSS Frame Generation was active on low-end graphics cards like the GTX 1060, alongside fixes for indoor lighting instability and camera jitter during low-FPS conditions. Other resolved issues prevent workers from breaking after loading save files, stop characters from entering a broken abyss loop at Abyss Skyloop Bridge, and fix sound effects playing at zero volume for Abyss Gear skills.
Players do not need to perform any special manual actions outside of letting their game client download and apply the patch normally through their respective platform launchers.
