Gamescom 2026 has reached maximum capacity, with all exhibition space at the Koelnmesse in Cologne, Germany, now booked. According to Gamescom Director Tim Endres and Head of Gamescom Stefan Heikhaus, this year's event will feature the largest variety of booths and exhibitors since the show began in 2009.

Exhibitor Selection and Community Fit

The organizers noted that securing a slot on the show floor involves a selective process. While demand from the industry remains high, not every brand is approved for a space. Heikhaus explained that the team prioritizes brands that align with the interests of the gaming community.

For example, while some non-endemic brands—those outside the core gaming industry—request space, they are only accepted if their presence makes sense for attendees. Heikhaus pointed to a collaboration between the automobile manufacturer Mini and Pokémon as an example of a successful pitch that fits the event's spirit.
