A new update for Forza has arrived, bringing Steam version 398.092. This patch focuses on cleaning up the competitive experience, addressing long-standing AI behavior, and resolving several technical exploits that have plagued the community.
Quick Facts
- Version: Steam 398.092
- Key Changes: Rivals Leaderboard reset, AI collision tuning, and exploit patches.
- Save Data: Continued investigation into Forza Horizon 6 save loss; players should use Cloud saves if prompted by a conflict dialog.
Leaderboards and Competitive Integrity
In a move to ensure a level playing field, the development team has officially reset all Rivals leaderboards. This decision follows the identification of numerous unrealistic entries caused by gameplay exploits and the use of drag tires before the June 15 physics balance update. While the reset impacts all players, the team confirmed that any clean lap times previously posted to earn Collection Journal items will remain unlocked.
Furthermore, developers are currently investigating similar exploits affecting PR Stunts leaderboards. A full wipe of those records is expected once the necessary patches are deployed.
AI and Gameplay Adjustments
The update targets several specific gameplay frustrations. Most notably, AI drivers have received adjustments to reduce excessive collisions on corner entries (Bug 4388349). Players should also see fewer issues in The Eliminator, where the 2021 Alumicraft #122 Class 1 Buggy has been swapped for the 1993 Toyota #1 T100 Baja Truck.
Several exploits have been addressed, including one that allowed players to keep high speeds in lower Car Classes by removing locked tunes during PR Stunts, and another that enabled the duplication of EventLab creations. Additionally, the ability to Rewind in Free Drive has been restored for EventLab users.
Audio and Vehicle Fixes
Car enthusiasts will notice specific audio tweaks in this release, including new stock exhaust sounds for the 2016 Alfa Romeo Giulia and updated race exhaust audio for the 2022 Ferrari 296 GTB. General audio performance has been improved, and a bug where changing Speech Volume inadvertently affected GPS Voice has been resolved.
Vehicle-specific fixes include:
- 1995 Toyota MR2 GT: Resolved an issue where contact with kerbs caused the car to come to a dead stop.
- Treasure Cars: Fixed a bug where these could be incorrectly removed from a player's garage.
- Auction House: Corrected an error where the Credit cap was improperly applied to non-Auto Show vehicles.
- 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B-STi: Price adjusted to better reflect the vehicle's market value.
Save Data Investigation
The team continues to investigate reports of lost save files in Forza Horizon 6. Users on Xbox Series X|S and PC should ensure their devices are fully updated, following a patch released on July 2. If a data loss event occurs, players are advised to select the "Cloud save" option when presented with a conflict dialog box to restore their most recent progress.
