A new title update for College Football is set to arrive, bringing significant adjustments to gameplay, Dynasty mode, and Ultimate Team. The update focuses on tuning blocking mechanics and defensive logic while introducing new content for long-term save files.
Gameplay and Blocking Adjustments
The development team has addressed community feedback regarding "pancake" blocks by lowering their frequency and tuning coaching adjustment interactions. Further improvements to blocking logic include:
- Enhanced targeting and assignment execution for blockers.
- Balanced outcomes for receiver versus defensive back blocks.
- Refined pass blocker depth on quick pass protection and play action plays.
- Improved stunt logic and functionality for defensive fronts.
Defensive coverage also receives a series of logic fixes, particularly for Cover 3 and Cover 4 schemes. CPU coaches will now exhibit greater variety in their coverage checks and plaster settings based on their specific coaching styles.
Dynasty and Road to Glory Updates
Dynasty mode sees a major overhaul to the Coaching Carousel and team management tools. Notably, the update balances coach firing logic to protect first-year head coaches and adds detailed columns for coordinator hiring. Players should note that the addition of new coaches and the Wisconsin vs. Notre Dame Shamrock Series game requires starting a new Dynasty file.
For Road to Glory, the update introduces a new Legacy Score and Draft Projection screen. The team has also adjusted Cap Breakers, removing single-game achievement triggers to ensure they are earned through sustained performance rather than specific exploits.
Ultimate Team: EVOs Progression
A new progression system called EVOs launches with this update. These items allow players to shape their roster by completing objectives to increase a player's OVR, add chemistries, or change abilities. The "Program Pillar EVO," available starting August 8, can be applied to any Core player item to provide a long-term upgrade path.
Team Builder Stability
The developers are addressing issues that prevented some Team Builder teams from updating correctly between seasons. Players who downloaded teams with assets exceeding the supported uniform limit may see unsupported fonts or textures removed once the upcoming fix is deployed. It is recommended that creators prioritize their five most important uniform combinations in the first five slots.
