The worldwide launch of College Football 27 is officially here. Following the start of Advanced Access, the development team at EA Sports has been monitoring player feedback and streaming data to identify priority issues for the game's first wave of post-launch support.
Gameplay and Switch Stick Fixes
On the gameplay front, the team is currently focusing on two high-priority items. First, they are actively investigating reports of excessive "pancake blocks," with more details expected once testing is complete. Additionally, reports of a noticeable delay when using the Switch Stick to change defenders have been confirmed. The developers have identified the root cause and are targeting a fix for an upcoming Title Update.
Dynasty Recruiting and Coach Progression
Significant changes are coming to Dynasty mode, specifically regarding how CPU teams handle high-rated recruits. The upcoming update, currently targeted for release next week, aims to address scenarios where top-tier talent goes unrecruited. Improvements include:
- Adjusted recruiting tuning to help CPU teams better compete for highly rated recruits.
- Enhanced logic for CPU teams to prioritize and retain recruits after extending offers.
- Fixes for late-cycle recruiting scenarios to ensure recruits have viable options.
- Recruit generation and balance adjustments to better reflect expected distributions.
Beyond recruiting, the team is addressing player feedback regarding coach progression. To provide more flexibility, three new Coach XP speed settings are being added: Casual (1.5x XP), Simulation (1.25x XP), and Career (1.0x XP). These settings will be available in both online and offline dynasties, allowing players to choose between a faster progression pace or the default, more deliberate "Dynasty Blueprint" experience.
Road to Glory Updates
Players experiencing issues in Road to Glory have also been addressed. The team confirmed that they have identified a bug where EDGE players are not triggering position battles to move up the depth chart, and a fix is planned for the next Title Update.
Regarding progression in Road to Glory, the developer clarified that the system is designed around weekly XP earned through gameplay performance. Playing on higher difficulty settings yields higher rewards, and players can generally reach mid-to-high 90s overall by their junior year. The team also emphasized that "Wear & Tear" is a core component of the mode's balance; while it can be disabled, doing so will result in reduced XP gains to offset the advantage of not having to manage player health.
The full details for the next Title Update are expected to arrive in next week’s Campus Huddle.
