A new force has arrived in ARK: Dragontopia. Today’s major version update, launching at approximately 2:00 PM Pacific, introduces Lumina, a radiant dragon designed as the counterpart to the existing Umbra. With celestial power and enhanced speed, Lumina is set to shift the aerial strategy for players across the skies.
A Wave of Post-Genesis Fixes
Beyond the addition of Lumina, this update focuses heavily on technical stability and gameplay adjustments following the recent Genesis Ascended Part 1 and ARK: Tides of Fortune releases. The patch addresses several long-standing issues, including the inability to craft Cryopods in Genesis Mission Terminals and bugs involving foliage interaction and map inaccuracies within the Genesis biome.
Players who rely on the Hand Cannon will see a significant 300% damage increase, while crafting requirements for Grapeshot ammo have been adjusted to be more reasonable. Other notable general fixes include:
- Increased melee swing radius for the Palaeoctopus.
- Improved ship physics and buoyancy for naval combat.
- Fixed Bloodstalker cloning issues and adjusted submerge controls to LB + RT.
- Raised structure limits for both the Brigantine (200) and the Sloop (75).
- Resolved various exploits and stability crashes.
Official Network Character Restoration
In addition to the new content and gameplay patches, the development team has shared a critical update regarding character restoration following the recent Official Network rollback. According to the team, a breakthrough in their restoration pipeline now allows them to systematically identify and programmatically restore lost characters.
Approximately 20% of impacted characters have already been restored manually. With the new automated process, the team expects to have 95% of the remaining characters returned to players by the end of the day. More complex cases requiring manual investigation are expected to be resolved by the end of the weekend.
While waiting for your character to be restored, players are advised to avoid transferring items or tames through the cloud, as these actions could overwrite the save data necessary for the restoration process.
