A recent update for Agent 64: Spies Never Die has introduced a temporary change to the game's Online Arena mode to address ongoing stability concerns. Developer D6 confirmed that the previous “hotjoin” sequence—which allowed players to drop into matches already in progress—was frequently triggering crashes and desync issues.

Changes to Online Arena

As of the v1015 update released on August 11, 2026, the ability to join matches mid-game has been removed. Players looking to compete in the Online Arena must now enter a queue for the next available session.

This change is intended as a stopgap measure while the developer investigates the underlying cause of the crashes associated with the live joining process. Previous patches, including v1011, had attempted to resolve these performance issues, but the current queue-based system is the primary solution currently in effect.

What Players Need to Do

Players do not need to take any manual action to enable this change, as it is a server-side adjustment to the matchmaking flow. Ensure your game client is updated to the latest version via Steam to maintain compatibility with the current matchmaking queue.
