Nintendo has released Xenoblade Chronicles 2 – Nintendo Switch 2 Edition, bringing the title to the new hardware with several technical and gameplay enhancements. The game is available now on the Nintendo Switch 2, with options for existing owners of the original title to upgrade.
Technical Enhancements and New Content
The updated version improves visual fidelity, targeting 4K resolution when played in TV mode and full HD when in handheld mode. The release also targets a 60 frames per second frame rate and includes updated, sharper cutscenes.
Beyond visual upgrades, the Nintendo Switch 2 edition introduces specific new content and features:
- New Rare Blade: A character named Momo has been added to the game.
- Merc Assault: A new action battle mode is now available.
Upgrade Options for Existing Owners
Players who already own the original Xenoblade Chronicles 2 for the Nintendo Switch can access these updates through a dedicated upgrade pack available on the Nintendo eShop. This allows existing players to transition to the enhanced version without needing to purchase the full game again.
