Cancelled Virtual Boy Games D-HOPPER and ZERO RACERS Arrive August 4

Nintendo has confirmed that D-HOPPER (originally titled Dragon Hopper) and ZERO RACERS will officially join the Nintendo Classics library on August 4, 2026. These titles were previously unreleased due to the Virtual Boy's limited commercial run in the 1990s.

Availability and Access

Both games will be available on the Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2, exclusively for active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack subscribers. To maintain the original hardware experience, the Virtual Boy app requires players to use the system in handheld mode with either the official headset replica or the cardboard alternative available on Nintendo's store.
