Moving Beyond Block-Based Designs
This upcoming release marks a significant departure from the current Lego Super Mario sets. Since the series launched in 2020, the collection has primarily consisted of interactive toys—such as Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach—rendered in a squat, blocky aesthetic. While these sets have included larger, brick-built structures and pixel-art recreations, they have largely avoided the traditional minifigure shape.
What to Expect from the 2027 Lineup
While official details on the full product range are limited, industry reports suggest a broader expansion of the character roster. If current information holds, the 2027 series is expected to include:
- A Luigi minifigure
- A "BigFig" version of Bowser
- A Yoshi minifigure with a removable shell, allowing other figures to ride on its back

Throughout 2026, the partnership has introduced several notable sets, including a The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time build, a Donkey Kong arcade machine, and various Mario Kart-themed sets featuring the Mach 8 vehicle.
