Nicalis, Pikii, and developer ABShot have announced that IRA is coming to the Nintendo Switch 2 on July 30, 2026. The roguelike action shoot 'em up, which originally saw a PC Early Access release in 2021 followed by a full 2023 launch, will bring its blend of bow-based combat and bullet-hell intensity to the new platform with upgraded performance specs.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: July 30, 2026
  • Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2 (also available on PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG)
  • Technical Specs: 4K resolution at 60 frames per second on Nintendo Switch 2

Gameplay and Mechanics

Players step into the shoes of Yeon, a protagonist tasked with wielding "Ira," a Protection Stone created by a lost god to defend the world against encroaching chaos. The game spans 4 areas and 7 stages, requiring players to master a mix of standard shots and charged attacks while navigating complex bullet patterns.

As a roguelike, the game features randomized map layouts, item drops, and upgrade paths, ensuring that each run plays differently. With over 160 bows, 150 items, and 43 synergies available, the developers aim to provide significant replayability. Combat is further bolstered by the "Just-Dodge" system, which triggers bullet time upon a perfectly timed evade, and an "Apostle Support" system that allows players to summon former servants of the God of Order to unleash ultimate skills.

Enhanced for Switch 2

The Nintendo Switch 2 version of IRA is designed to take advantage of the console's hardware, offering a 4K resolution and a consistent 60 frames per second. This performance target is intended to keep the game's dense bullet curtains clear and responsive during high-intensity encounters.
