Publisher Kodansha and developer Tokoronyori have announced that their two-player cooperative puzzle adventure game BOKURA is heading to the Nintendo Switch 2. The new version launches on July 29 with a price tag of $4.99.

How BOKURA Works
BOKURA requires two players using separate devices to communicate and solve riddles together. What makes the game unique is that the screens of both players show completely different perspectives of the exact same environment. For instance, one player might see a character as a storybook animal, while the other sees a robot. These differing perceptions directly alter how objects function on the field, forcing partners to talk through what they see to progress.
The side-scrolling puzzle adventure runs for about three to four hours total. Throughout the journey, players face critical story choices that alter how the narrative unfolds. The game centers on two boys who run away from home, discover a dead deer, and faint—waking up to find that everything they see in each other's eyes has diverged into completely separate worlds of animals and machines.
Platform Availability and Requirements
While the game is already available across PC, Switch, iOS, and Android following its full release in August 2023, the upcoming Switch 2 port adds Nintendo's newest hardware to the lineup. Planned PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions are also in development.
Players should note that BOKURA cannot be played solo or against a computer opponent. The game strictly requires two real players to communicate and coordinate their actions, whether playing locally or online from a distance.
