The Odyssey is officially coming to Fortnite. In a surprise collaboration with filmmaker Christopher Nolan, Epic Games is bringing an Odysseus skin—modeled after Matt Damon—to the island. For players looking to add the character to their locker without spending V-Bucks, the developer is hosting a competitive tournament to grant the outfit for free.
Quick Facts
- Event Name: The Odyssey Fortnite Cup
- Dates: July 15, 2026, and July 16, 2026
- Modes: Battle Royale, Zero Build, and Mobile Reload
- Key Rewards: Odysseus Outfit, Xiphos Pickaxe, Bow of Iphytus Back Bling
How to Compete in the Odyssey Cup
The event is split into three distinct solo tournament tracks: Battle Royale, Zero Build, and a Mobile Reload competition. To participate, you will need to jump into the specific lobbies during the scheduled windows. The Battle Royale and Zero Build qualifiers run for a three-hour block, allowing for up to 11 matches per player. The Mobile Cup is more condensed, lasting 75 minutes with a maximum of eight matches.
Points are awarded based on in-game performance, and only matches that begin before the session concludes will count toward your final score. In the event of a tie on the leaderboard, Epic Games uses a tie-breaking hierarchy: total Victory Royales, average eliminations, average placement, and finally, total survival time.
Unlockable Rewards
While the top-performing players in each region will earn the full Odysseus set—including the skin, the Xiphos Pickaxe, and the Bow of Iphytus Back Bling—there are other ways to walk away with items. By earning 40 points, players can unlock the King's Helm Spray. If you are looking for something easier to grab, earning just eight points in Battle Royale or Zero Build (or five points in the Mobile Cup) will net you the Trojan War Loading Screen.
This collaboration continues a trend of high-profile cinematic events within the game. Previously, Fortnite has hosted screenings of Christopher Nolan films such as Batman Begins, Inception, and The Prestige, alongside trailers for Tenet. With the arrival of this latest partnership, it is clear that the director's connection to the platform remains strong.
