Fortnite has kicked off the first Treasure Hours of the season, running across all supported platforms until 4pm ET (7–9pm GMT). If you miss the initial window, the event returns later tonight from 9–11pm ET (2–4am GMT).
Quick Facts
- Event Window: Live now until 4pm ET (7–9pm GMT), returning tonight from 9–11pm ET (2–4am GMT).
- Confirmed Drops: Players drop with an A&AP Rocket Launcher, Boosted Fortune Sprites, and Self-Revive on the ship.
- Pirate Shop Tokens: Tokens unlock all Item Shop items free for two weeks, though current drop odds remain unconfirmed by Epic Games.
What Changes During Treasure Hours
During the active two-hour window, every player drops into the match equipped with a Shock Rocket and Self-Revive, creating a faster-paced and more chaotic environment for the ongoing Pirate Shop token hunt. Epic Games has officially confirmed that participants can expect an A&AP Rocket Launcher, Boosted Fortune Sprites, and Self-Revive on the ship.
However, Epic Games has not confirmed whether finding a Pirate Shop token becomes easier during Treasure Hours. An Epic Games representative declined to provide specific drop rates when asked, stating only that everyone has an equal opportunity to find them.
Community Findings and Token Mechanics
The lack of official statistics has led players to examine game files for answers. Dataminers recently discovered that out of 16 possible prizes, Pirate Shop Access is set to 'PreReloadOnly', meaning tokens are determined exclusively before a chest opens. Furthermore, files pointing to a server-side system called 'Clover' indicate that token distribution is handled entirely on Fortnite's servers rather than locally.
Because the distribution occurs server-side, players have no definitive way of knowing whether opening additional chests improves their chances of securing a token. While the event alters the immediate match rules with guaranteed gear and self-revives, grinding chests during Treasure Hours comes with no official guarantee of a token boost.
