Publisher Koei Tecmo and developer Kou Shibusawa have released the official trailer for Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV Complete Edition. The comprehensive bundle arrives on September 10 in Japan and Asia, bringing together the original strategy game and all major post-launch content for the 40th anniversary of the Romance of the Three Kingdoms series.

Quick Facts

  • Release Date: September 10, 2026 (Japan and Asia)
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC (via Steam)
  • Publisher: Koei Tecmo
  • Developer: Kou Shibusawa

What's Included in the Complete Edition

Designed as a definitive package for the series' 40th anniversary, the release bundles the base game alongside the Diplomacy and Strategy Expansion Pack Bundle, Season Pass, and Season Pass 2. Players who purchase the Complete Edition gain access to all previously released add-ons alongside entirely new features built specifically for this release.

Among the new additions, the game features more than 100 scenic spots across China, famed works of literature, and 190 historical events, marking the greatest number of historical events in the series' history. Tactical warfare receives an update through expanded reconnaissance mechanics, allowing players to gather military situation data to gain advantages in diplomacy and schemes.

New Gameplay Systems and Options

Subordinate progression ties directly into faction management through the new Merit and Policies systems. Players help subordinates earn Merit, which in turn generates Principle Points used to enact various Policies across their forces.

Additional features introduced in the package include an Expertise Mode within Scenario Settings—permitting detailed value adjustments for mechanics like Tactics damage—alongside the Employ Officer command and new scenarios.

Upgrade and Purchase Options

The package requires the base game of Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV to run, though Koei Tecmo is offering a Romance of the Three Kingdoms XIV Complete Edition Bundle that includes both the base game and the Upgrade Pack for players who do not yet own the title. Existing owners of previous packs can purchase the upgrade separately via Steam and other digital storefronts.
