Valve has officially kicked off the Steam Scream Fest V 2026, bringing a seasonal wave of discounts to the PC storefront. The event, which began on October 26, 2026, focuses on horror and spooky-themed titles, offering players a chance to pick up various games at reduced prices. This annual celebration of all things eerie is scheduled to run through November 2, 2026, giving users a full week to browse the curated selection of discounted software. The event serves as a primary hub for those looking to expand their libraries with titles that fit the Halloween spirit, ranging from psychological horror to intense survival experiences.
Event Highlights and Trailer Reveal
To mark the start of the festivities, Valve released an official event trailer. The video features Kaci Aitchison, who guides viewers through the thematic elements of this year's sale. Beyond the promotional video, the storefront has been updated to highlight specific genres for the duration of the event. Players can expect to find a wide variety of titles on sale, with the platform prioritizing visibility for horror-themed games throughout the week. The event is designed to provide a centralized location for users to discover new content while taking advantage of seasonal price reductions.
Transparency and Content Standards
A notable aspect of this year's event is the continued emphasis on store transparency. As part of the platform's ongoing efforts to inform consumers, specific titles included in the sale now feature clear labeling regarding their development processes. For instance, the title The Outlast Trials includes an AI Generated Content Disclosure, ensuring that players are aware of the nature of the assets used within the game before they make a purchase.
