Developers Impact Reality and Running With Scissors have announced that POSTAL 2 Redux will launch in spring 2027. The title is confirmed for PlayStation 5 with PlayStation VR2 support, PlayStation 4, PC via Steam with VR support, and Meta Quest. A release for additional consoles is planned for a later date.

The project, which was successfully funded via Kickstarter in a single day, aims to modernize the original 2003 title while maintaining its sandbox gameplay. According to Impact Reality CEO Jasmine Uniza, the game allows players to navigate a reactive world where they dictate how each day unfolds. The update also features an upgraded version of the character Champ, the series' canine companion, who now includes new interaction options.
Running With Scissors CEO Vince Desi noted that the team intended to apply modern technology and game systems to the original vision of the sandbox experience. The game is being built in collaboration with the community that supported its crowdfunding campaign.
