Overview of Patch 1.0.5

The 1.0.5 update for Legends of Aria Eternal which requires client version 1.4.3, introduces a fundamental shift in how player-versus-player (PvP) interactions are governed. The previous murder count system has been retired in favor of a reputation-based framework. This update also expands PvE endgame content through new boss encounters in Hell and adds a significant number of abilities for player pets.

The Reputation System

The new reputation system uses name colors to indicate a player's PvP status, allowing for immediate identification of potential combat risks. Players are categorized by their reputation standing:

  • Blue: Innocent players. Higher reputation levels (10,000 and 20,000) are indicated by deeper shades of blue.
  • Grey: Players who have committed a minor infraction within the last five minutes.
  • Light Red: Disreputable players who have recently committed murder or have negative reputation.
  • Red: Outcasts, defined as serial murderers.

Outcasts face severe restrictions, including being attacked by guards on sight and the inability to use fast travel methods. When an Outcast is killed by another player, they must choose between skill loss, a 60% reduction in maximum health and mana for one hour, or paying a gold ransom. Conversely, players who maintain a reputation of +20,000 can join the Wardens of the Dawn order, which provides access to specific contracts, commendation rewards, and reduced hearthstone cooldowns.

Endgame Content and Pet Updates

Hell has received an expansion with the addition of three summonable bosses: Vaelthros, Cinderking Vex, and Nhalis. These encounters feature unique mechanics and provide a shared shard reward that scales based on the size of the group. Additionally, the update introduces approximately 70 new pet abilities distributed across eight creature families, expanding the tactical options for players utilizing pets in combat. Players can trigger these abilities using a dedicated Pet Ability button on the hotbar.
