Riot Games has deployed patch 26.14 for League of Legends on PC, introducing a new round of balance adjustments. The update targets several champions for performance tuning and modifies the Blue Buff system to increase its strategic impact.

Champion Buffs and Nerfs

Four champions received direct buffs in this update: Corki, Mordekaiser, Nami, and Yunara. These changes aim to improve their viability in the current meta.

Conversely, five champions were nerfed to address balance concerns in specific roles and skill brackets:

  • Garen (Top): Nerfed for players in Iron through Diamond 2 ranks.
  • Jayce (Top): Nerfed specifically for professional play.
  • Locke (Mid): Nerfed across all roles.
  • Senna (Bot): Nerfed across all roles.
  • Seraphine (Bot): Nerfed across all roles.

Azir Adjustments

Azir received a significant mechanical adjustment intended to restore his status as a viable mid-lane threat. His primary ability, W - Arise!, has been reworked to better utilize item interactions:

  • On-hit scaling: Scorch, Liandry's Torment, Blackfire Torch, and Hextech Alternator now deal 100% of their damage on-hit, up from 50%.
  • Rune synergy: W - Arise! now applies two stacks of Conqueror instead of one and is capable of triggering Press the Attack.

System and Item Changes

Three items were hit with nerfs due to their widespread impact on various playstyles: Immortal Path, Protoplasm Harness, and Hextech Rocketbelt.

Additionally, the Blue Buff has been updated to provide more value throughout the match. It now grants Ability Haste that scales based on the champion's level: 10 Ability Haste at level 1, 15 at level 6, and 20 at level 11. Riot Games stated that this change is intended to make the buff more impactful without requiring players to alter their established mana-building habits.

Player Impact Summary

Players relying on Azir will see a noticeable shift in build path efficiency and rune effectiveness, particularly regarding on-hit itemization. Those playing in the top lane or bot lane should note the nerfs to staples like Garen, Senna, and Seraphine, which may shift priority picks in competitive and ranked queues. Finally, the added Ability Haste on Blue Buff provides a tangible power boost for mid-laners and junglers looking to increase their spell frequency as the game progresses.
