Closed Network Test Multiplayer Modes and Features

While the full retail release of Crazy Taxi: World Tour will feature single-player and story modes, this upcoming test focuses entirely on online multiplayer action. Selected participants will get early hands-on time with two top-speed online modes, available in both Ranked Match and Custom Match formats where custom rules can be configured.

The test includes two distinct ways to play:

  • Pickup Race: Up to six players compete to drop off as many passengers as possible within a set time limit to earn the highest amount of crazy money.
  • Cops 'N' Cabbies: Players split into two opposing three-person teams to compete against each other.

Participants will have access to two maps, four characters, and six cars featuring various tune-up options. Sega is using the network test to evaluate online multiplayer stability ahead of the game's full launch, supporting cross-play across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Steam.

West Coast Map and Real-Life Brand Storefronts

Alongside the network test details, Sega released a travel-inspired trailer highlighting the West Coast map, which serves as an iconic location for long-time fans of the series. Staying true to the arcade roots of the original game, Crazy Taxi: World Tour incorporates real-life retail storefronts into its globetrotting maps. Confirmed brands on the West Coast map include IHOP and Amoeba Music, with additional brand partnerships and regional retailers slated for announcement alongside future map reveals.

Crazy Taxi: World Tour is officially scheduled to launch in 2027 for the Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store.
