Battlefield Studios has launched a free trial for Battlefield 6, effective today. The trial coincides with the mid-season update for Season 4 and runs through Tuesday, August 25, 2026.
Strategic Timing and Content
The timing of this trial places it in direct competition with the first beta session for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, which also begins this Friday, August 21, and concludes on Tuesday, August 25. This overlap follows a pattern of counter-programming between the two franchises; last year, Black Ops 6 held a free trial during the release week of Battlefield 6, and Battlefield 6 later launched a free week following the release of Black Ops 7.
What Players Can Access
The trial offers access to the full suite of content introduced in the Season 4 update. This includes:
- Both new maps released for Season 4.
- Carrier Strike, the new game mode featuring Top Gun-themed elements.
- Fighter Sweep, a Top Gun-branded mode that is already available as part of the game's free-to-play Redsec package.
By including the Top Gun collaboration content in the trial, players have access to the entirety of the latest seasonal update without purchasing the base game.
