Final Deadline for 3DS Transfers
The Pokémon Company has confirmed that Pokémon Bank will officially cease operations on February 26, 2027, at noon (Japan time). This closure marks the end of the final active online service for the Nintendo 3DS, which has served as a bridge for trainers to move their creatures into modern console generations for over a decade.
Because the ability to move Pokémon from Bank to Pokémon HOME will be disabled at the exact moment of the shutdown, players must complete their transfers before the deadline. There will be no way to retrieve or move monsters stored in Bank once the clock runs out.

Impact on Players
Pokémon Bank had remained functional despite the closure of the 3DS eShop and the shutdown of general Nintendo 3DS online services in 2024. For many, this service was the primary method for preserving older collections. With the service now set to go offline, trainers who have not yet moved their collections to the current ecosystem on Nintendo Switch have roughly one year to finalize their transfers.
While the Bank service is sunsetting, the modern equivalent, Pokémon HOME, continues to expand. The platform recently integrated support for the Switch releases of Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen, offering a reward of a Celebi to players who complete the Pokédex in those titles.
