It’s a busy season for Lego and Pokemon fans as more details regarding upcoming collaborations have surfaced. Following a string of leaks and official updates—including the recent Rayquaza set and the polarizing Smart Brick Pikachu and Jigglypuff designs—reliable leakers have now unveiled two additional sets expected to hit shelves later this year.
New Poke Ball and Red Minifigure Sets
Leaked details showcased by Brick Tap reveal that the next wave of products includes an “Iconic Trainer Moments Poke Ball” and an “Up-Scaled Red Minifigure.” The Poke Ball set appears to be the more substantial of the two, boasting 2,386 pieces. It features a large, buildable Poke Ball that can actually open, revealing a diorama that includes Professor Oak, three minifigures, and small recreations of Pikachu and Eevee playing in the grass. It carries a price tag of $300 and is currently slated for an October 1, 2026, release.
The second leak is an up-scaled, brick-built version of the Red minifigure. At 930 pieces and priced at $79.99, it is designed to mirror the smaller character included in the Poke Ball set. However, unlike the reception for the interactive Poke Ball, this larger figure has faced sharp criticism from the community, with some fans labeling the design as “trash” and expressing frustration over the direction of the display-focused sets.
Community Reaction to the Leaks
While the "Iconic Trainer Moments" Poke Ball has been praised by some as the “first good Pokemon Lego set,” the reception for the up-scaled Red figure highlights a growing divide between different types of collectors. Some social media users have argued that the current designs cater more to "Lego fans who like Lego" rather than those specifically invested in the Pokemon franchise. Others have criticized the broader trend of "displayslop" appearing within the theme.
It is worth noting that these sets have not yet been officially confirmed by Lego. As these are based on leaks—including early looks at box art—details such as final pricing or specific release dates are subject to change. For now, fans will have to wait for an official announcement to see if these designs hold up in their final retail form.
