Producer Takeshi Yamanaka took the stage at EVO 2026 this Sunday to reveal the final team for MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls. Dubbed the “Samurai Outriders,” this group of dark heroes includes Ghost Rider, Blade, Loki, and Deadpool.

⚡ Quick Facts
  • Game Title: MARVEL Tōkon: Fighting Souls
  • Release Date: August 6, 2026
  • Platforms: PC, PlayStation 5
  • Open Beta: July 24–26, 2026

Meet the Samurai Outriders

According to Yamanaka, the Samurai Outriders are far from a cohesive unit at the start of the game. Players will see how these characters grow and evolve together through the title's Episode Mode. The roster brings together a distinct mix of combat styles:

  • Blade (voiced by Imari Williams): Having completed his training in Japan, Blade wields the Muramasa sword, which turns red when its power is unleashed. He is a high-speed, aggressive fighter who uses tools like machine guns and glaives alongside his "Heartstopper" ability to pin opponents.
  • Loki (voiced by Jason Spisak): Now attempting to transition from villain to hero, the God of Mischief relies on deception. His combat style utilizes illusions, counters, and ice-based projectiles to confuse enemies.
  • Deadpool (voiced by Nolan North): The "Merc with a Mouth" brings a reckless, high-damage playstyle to the game. Thanks to his healing factor, he can utilize high-risk techniques and has even obtained a "game strategy guide" from beyond the fourth wall to incorporate moves from other fighting games.

New Stage: Asgard

The developers also unveiled Asgard as a new stage for the game. The "Realm of the Gods" is split into five distinct sections: the Observatory, the Bifrost Bridge, the Throne Room, the Treasure Vault, and the world tree, Yggdrasil. The stage is designed to reflect the Marvel Universe's blend of advanced science and magic.

Open Beta and Character Guides

For those looking to test their skills before the August 6, 2026, launch, a global open beta is scheduled for July 24–26 on both PlayStation 5 and PC. Blade will be a playable character during this test.

The development team is also currently releasing a series of character deep-dive trailers. These videos provide detailed looks at battle mechanics, including normal moves, super abilities, and assist types, and are intended to help players decide which fighters suit their playstyle before the game arrives on PC and PlayStation.
