Vault Hunters, it is time to return to Kairos. The latest update for Borderlands 4, version 1.8, is officially live, bringing a massive injection of free content and long-awaited technical features to the game. Whether you are looking for a new endgame challenge or a way to take your progress on the go, this patch has you covered.
New Endgame Content: Hadron Abyss and Circle of Slaughter
The headline feature of this update is the addition of the Takedown at Hadron Abyss. This endgame raid drops players into an underwater research station teeming with mutated horrors and aquatic apex predators. The journey culminates in a boss fight against the Child of Terramorphous. Note that you must finish the main story campaign to unlock this challenge.
If you prefer non-stop combat, the Circle of Slaughter has officially made its return. This mode challenges you to survive waves of increasingly difficult enemies. Both the Takedown and the Circle of Slaughter are available for free to all owners of Borderlands 4.
Cross-Platform Saves and Technical Improvements
Gearbox has finally enabled Cross-Platform Saves. By linking your game to a free SHiFT account, you can now seamlessly continue your character’s journey across different platforms. For those experiencing technical issues, the team has updated the support process; when submitting a ticket, you should now attach your DxDiag or MSinfo file to expedite assistance.
Additionally, the update includes quality-of-life improvements such as refreshed item cards designed to make gear inspection faster and more efficient during high-intensity gameplay.
Paid DLC and Future Roadmap
For those looking to expand their experience further, Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For is available now for $5.99 USD. This pack is split into two parts: the narrative content and gear set, and the Vault Card 3, which includes new cosmetics and gear.
Looking ahead, the development team has shared a refreshed roadmap for the coming months:
- July 30: Release of Bounty Pack 4: Murders & Acquisitions.
- Early September: Release of Story Pack 2, which will introduce a new playable Vault Hunter named Loveless the Hacker.
As always, the community continues to find hidden details in the game, such as the recently discovered “Onion Ring” vault. If you have captured any impressive moments in-game, the team is actively spotlighting community screenshots in their weekly updates. Keep your ECHOnet tuned for more, as the team promises further surprises in next Friday's update.
