Raids and dungeons continue to require the corresponding expansion or Dungeon Key. The revised Director moved activities from older menus, so a missing familiar node is not by itself proof that content was removed.

A practical route for returning players
Bungie’s returning-player FAQ recommends visiting the Tower’s social hub, or speaking to Shaw Han in the Cosmodrome to begin New Light. To start Monument of Triumph, visit the monument in the center of the Tower and follow its introductory quest. Fireteam Finder is available from the roster screen when you need a group.
