Switch 2 Players Finally Get a Firm Date for Shadows DLC

Ubisoft just dropped the roadmap for Assassin’s Creed Shadowsand the big news for the Nintendo crowd is the official date for the Claws of Awaji expansion. Switch 2 owners have been playing the waiting game since the console's version launched behind the other platforms, but the gap is closing. We now have a confirmed release of March 10, 2026, for the DLC. We believe this is a vital move for Ubisoft. Staggered releases are a nightmare for keeping a community engaged, so locking in a firm date helps kill the "delayed version" stigma that often haunts Nintendo ports. It’s a clear signal that the Switch 2 isn't being treated as an afterthought in the post-launch cycle.

Closing the Content Gap

A Much-Needed Win for Parity

While the Switch 2 hardware is a massive step up, we’ve seen third-party titles struggle with content parity in the past. Getting the Claws of Awaji content on the books for March shows that the pipeline for Shadows is finally stabilized. For those of us who prefer the hybrid "play anywhere" setup, this is exactly what we needed to see.

Roadmap Reliability

Ubisoft’s detail on the roadmap suggests they are confident in the Switch 2's performance capabilities for this expansion. It’s good to see a solid commitment rather than a vague "coming soon" window. If you’ve been holding off on the base game because of the delayed start, this March 10 drop makes the Switch 2 version a much more viable pick for the long haul.
