The Bermuda Triangle is the setting for the latest 4-player cooperative extraction game, Wreck Runners, and Xbox Insiders can get a head start on the action beginning today. The developer, Disruptive Games, has opened the first official playtest for the title, inviting players to team up and scavenge for salvage before the game's full release next week.
The Stakes of the Triangle
In Wreck Runners, your crew boards the ORCA to navigate a region defined by strange anomalies and hostile creatures. The gameplay loop centers on a high-stakes balance of risk and reward: you and up to three friends must explore abandoned islands, mysterious facilities, and underwater wrecks to secure valuable salvage. The catch is that the further you venture into the Triangle, the more dangerous your surroundings become, forcing teams to decide when to retreat to the safety of the Barge.
How to Join the Playtest
The playtest is limited to Xbox Series X|S consoles and is currently active. To participate, follow these steps:
- Launch the Xbox Insider Hub app on your console (or download it from the Store if you don't have it).
- Navigate to the Previews tab.
- Select Wreck Runners and click Join.
- Once registration is complete, you will be redirected to the Store to install the Wreck Runners Playtest.
The playtest window runs from Thursday, July 9, at 10:00 AM PT until Monday, July 13, at 10:00 AM PT. If you encounter any bugs or technical issues during your sessions, you can report them directly to the developers by holding the home button on your controller and selecting Report a problem, followed by the Games category and Wreck Runners Playtest subcategory.
