AdHoc Studio has officially announced that its superhero workplace comedy, Dispatch, will arrive on Xbox Series X|S and PC via the Microsoft Store on July 29, 2026. This release expands the game’s reach, as it is already currently available on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam.
From The Minds Behind The Wolf Among Us
Developed by the team behind Tales from the Borderlands and The Wolf Among Us, Dispatch shifts the superhero genre into the mundane setting of a modern-day Los Angeles office. Players step into the shoes of Robert Robertson—also known as Mecha Man—whose hero career is put on hold after his mech-suit is destroyed in a battle with his nemesis.
Forced to trade the front lines for a desk job, Robertson finds himself working at a superhero dispatch center. His new responsibilities include rehabilitating a group of ex-supervillains, managing office politics, and working to rebuild his suit in hopes of eventually exacting revenge.
Gameplay and Roster Management
The game blends narrative-driven storytelling with strategy elements. Players must use a strategy map to monitor emergencies and deploy heroes to handle threats across the city. Each decision carries weight, influencing not just the success of a mission, but also the relationships with the heroes themselves.
Managing the roster is a key component of the experience. Every hero comes with their own set of quirks, baggage, and personality flaws that players must navigate to keep the team functional. As you progress, you can upgrade hero skills and unlock new abilities to increase their effectiveness during field operations, all while balancing the inherent risks and rewards of each deployment.
Whether you are managing a crisis from behind a desk or navigating complex office relationships, Dispatch aims to explore the reality of heroism outside of the traditional cape-wearing archetype.
